Calligraphic execution of John Ruskin's Of repose by Graily Hewitt. Written in black ink with capital letters illuminated in burnished gold. A letter formerly laid in to the volume, but now cataloged and housed separately (ba MS.1962.003), is written from Hewitt to a "Miss Thompson," who commissioned this specific work.
