The Gladys Burnette Olson collection consists of an audiocassette and transcript of an oral history interview conducted between Olson and Uchenna Okafor during the fall of 1989. Olson spent her career working as a high school teacher, journalist, and college professor at Mankato State College in Mankato, Minnesota. In the interview, Olson discussed the areas of change and continuity that she witnessed during her career. She focused on role of teachers from 1934 to 1981. This oral history interview was conducted as a requirement for the graduate level Educational Foundations course entitled History of Education in American Culture at Mankato State University in Mankato, Minnesota.
