Negative taken for June 26, 1964, Arkansas Gazette article "Arkansas County Side Trip Leads to Mysterious Hole," B1:2. Arkansas County School Supervisor Joe Chambers led Deane to a large round hole in the ground in the Lodge Corner area near DeWitt, Arkansas County, Arkansas. The hole naturally formed. Many believe it is simply a sinkhole, but there is no consensus.
