Grenville Mellen letter and poem, 1837 Feb. 12.

The collection contains two handwritten items, a letter and a poem. The letter, 12 Feb. 1837, to Lewis J. Cist, forwards a requested "line" of poetry. The poem, presumably mentioned in the letter, is titled The Mantilla, and recounts unrequited love experienced by a young Spanish woman. Also includes original envelope.
