Discussing his illness, noting that "la grippe has gripped me" and stating that he has been prostrate with the Russian influenza since Christmas. Mentioning that he has been reading "all the trash the Woodford [Circulating] Library contains," including "Goodbye Sweetheart," "Dust," by J. Hawthorne, a Gaboriau, and "Herr Paulus," and hoping to reread "L'Immortel" again.
