The first courses in home economics at the University of Nevada were offered in 1901, and were taught within the structure of the College of Agriculture. In 1954, the Max C. Fleischmann Foundation of Nevada provided financing for a new agriculture building. In recognition, the College of Agriculture was named the Max C.
