Papers of LeBaron Russell Briggs, 1901-1933.

The collection contains a one page fragment of an unknown manuscript. The first sentence begins "his neighbor's goods. In our impatience we forget" and is on paper watermarked 1901. A letter to Houghton, Mifflin, Co., 1901 Aug 21, discusses his preference for the spelling found in Joseph E Worcester's "Dictionary of the English Language" and mentions returning a copy of a contract. Letters to J. Byron Rees, 1907-1913, discuss admitting George Burwell Dutton as an A.M. candidate; Rees' offer to look up anything for him at the Bodleian; Rees' permission to talk to William Allan Neilson about an unnamed matter; and a visit to Williams College. A letter, 1933 May 1, refuses an unspecified request by "Wheelwright."
