Arthurs Symons letter and essay, 1903.

The collection consists of three items, a handwritten letter to Mr. Young, and an essay, A note on Germany, in both handwritten and typescript versions. The letter, 30 March 1903, is to Mr. Young, an American who sent Symons a photograph, presumably from his trip to Constantinople. Symons waxes eloquently about his own trip to Constantinople, confesses to mystification about copyright law, and comments on his recently finished play, Tristan and Iseult. The essay, A note on Germany, undated, presents critical opinions of German art and artists, and how they relate to the character of Germany.
