General description of the collection: The Henry G. Mathewson photograph collection consists of photos that deal with the field training of various coast artillery companies as well as the 5th U.S. Infantry Regiment in and around the Presidio of San Francisco / Fort Winfield Scott, California, during the period 1904-1910. There are also photos of officers of the 40th Coast Artillery Corps (CAC) Regiment in 1918. Two additional long photos are of a visit of the Belgian Armored Motor Corps at San Francisco in May 1918. Most of the photos are small images contained within two small photo albums.
