Solomon Miller was usually referred to as Sol Miller. Mr. Miller was born in Lafayette, Ind in 1831. He learned the printing trade in Germantown, Ohio in 1848. At 21 he was editor of the paper where he had been working. Solomon came to Kan in 1857 and later established the White Cloud Kansas Chief (published in White Cloud, Doniphan County) which later changed to the Weekly Kansas Chief, and was published in Troy (Doniphan County).
