Contains the following type of material: photographs. Covers the following war: World War II (WWII). Contains photographs of the following military units: Numerous units/divisions in the European Theater of Operations (ETO). General description of the collection: The Richard Kaplan photograph collection consists of mostly photos (copied from various sources) dealing in some way with the Battle of the Bulge. Numerous towns in Belgium and Luxemberg, lots of snow scenes, some photos of atrocities both to American soldiers and Jewish citizens, some photos taken from German prisoners, soldiers in the field during winter, knocked out German tanks, etc., depict the series of engagements known as the Battle of the Bulge. The remainder of the collection taken during the 1980-1990s is of veterans who traveled to Europe to the sites of their earlier service.
