Part of a group of negatives taken for September 16, 1958, Arkansas Gazette article "Bones of Proud Old Forrest City Hotel Will Rise Again," B1:2. The Avery Hotel, also known as the Belsor Hotel and the Marion Hotel, was built in 1885 was torn down in late 1958. From the Forrest City Public Library archives, this is one side of the gilt-edged invitation set out when the Avery Hotel opened in 1885.
