Hand-colored sixth-plate daguerreotype in leather case of Joseph Parrish as a young boy. The photograph was taken by Charles M. Ising of Philadelphia, Penn. ca. 1856-1857. Enclosed is a note in an unknown hand that identifies the photograph. There is also an 1877 note to Sue Wharton in the hand of Joseph Parrish, accepting an invitation on behalf of his daughters Ethel and Grace Parrish.
