Papers of Blue Ridge Farm, 1927-1929.

A letter from R. Ortman to J. Churchill Newcomb, 1928, October 20, discusses membership in the London Club, and various aspects of Piedmont, Va., horse racing. Ortman mentions an unpcoming race at Farmington, William DuPont, Jr., the races at Annefield and Montpelier, entry possibilities from Wavertree Hall, Mirador, and Blue Ridge Farms, improvements to the Farmington course, hunter trials at Blue Ridge, trials at the Mellon estate, and the organizing of a new hunt club.. He encloses a clipping on the cost of handling a race horse (not present) and offers to mail posters. The papers also contain a sheet of stationery of the Albemarle County Hunt, J. Churchill Newcomb, Joint Master of Foxhounds, containing a sketch of a bracket.
