B.W. Procter letters and poem, 1819-1868.

The collection consists of nine letters and a poem, all handwritten. The letters include: to Charles Ollier, 25 Jan. 1827, thanking him for the opera; to Miss Powers, undated, acknowledging but declining an invitation due to prior commitment; to Mr. Lyons, undated, asking for any manuscripts available; six letters to Dear sir, 1819-1868, short notes to various acquaintances generally acknowledging correspondence. Also, sonnet, To an exile, undated.

Bryan Waller Procter (pseud. Barry Cornwall), English minor poet and lawyer. He was a close friend of several more prominent Romantics, including William Hazlitt, Charles Lamb, and Leigh Hunt.
