General description of the collection: The Daughters of the U.S. Army photograph collection consists of photographs of military installations throughout the United States (U.S.) with special emphasis on western posts of U.S. Army units and officer groups. Activities at military posts, from training to weddings to sports events, are all shown. Also represented is the United States Military Academy (USMA), West Point, 1879-1892; Europe and WWI; and Mexico as well as the Philippines, 1900-1916. Numerous images of American Indians during the period 1870-1875 are found in the collection.
