Contains photographs of the following military units and organizations: 3rd Army Corps Headquarters (HQ); 308th Engineers; 308th Field Signal Battalion; 5th Marines; 6th Marines; various numbered field hospitals. General description of the collection: The John S. Chambers photograph collection consists of a large format photo album whose cover is stenciled "HISTORICAL PHOTOGRAPHS / QUARTERMASTER ACTIVITIES / A.E.F. WORLD WAR I / GIFT OF NORTH TEXAS CHAPTER, QMAs / COLONEL JOHN S. CHAMBERS / US RET.". The contents are Signal Corps photographs dealing with various places in France, Luxembourg, and Germany after WWI. Various battlefield views, numerous towns and villages, and activities of the army of occupation are among the bulk of images. Unit photos and individual portrait photos of general officers and others of the above listed organizations are scattered throughout the album.
