Writing to Scott Cunningham, Esquire, a creditor of Meller, Beard regretfully informed Cunnigham that Meller did not have the money. Once more, Beard disdainfully declared, that Meller would never have the money "unless he changes his ways, drinking up everything (he) can get hold of."
