Publications 1933-1959; 1942-1959.

This series contains an assortment of printed material produced by the Evangelical Lutheran Church's Women's Missionary Federation (WMF) and its Literature Committee from 1933-1958 with the bulk of the material being created from 1942-1958. These records were generated in the course of creating educational and promotional materials for use by WMF member organizations and also in the course of preparing material for its biennial conventions. Materials in this series do not represent complete sets of any type of record. They are only a sampling of the types of materials produced by the WMF. Records include individual programs for holidays, pageants, and plays depicting a specific topic; programs designed to highlight the work of specific WMF departments; and program series for educational use. Other material includes basic pamphlets and leaflets for general promotional and educational use, three issues of the WMF periodical News Bulletin, and booklets and maps with information pertaining to the church's home and foreign mission fields. One oversized map was removed and is kept in the mapcase. In addition to the material produced by the Literature Committee, there are copies of convention programs for 1942, 1946, 1950, 1954, and 1958. These programs contain, among other items, general convention information, reports, the daily convention program, and rules for voting. Duplicates were removed. The majority of records pertaining to the WMF are at the ELCA Region 3 Archives, located at Luther Seminary, St. Paul, Minnesota.
