Absolom and Achitophel [manuscript copy], 1681-1785.

Manuscript copy of a poem written by John Dryden entitled, "Absolom and Achitophel," originally written in 1681. The poem was most likely transcribed by Samuel Curwen, 1795, as a gift to William Pynchon; and bound with a manuscript copy of a speech delivered by Lord Chancellor William Cowper passing sentence on George Seton Earl of Winton for his role in the Jacobite Rebellion in 1715.
