Hand-colored quarter-plate daguerreotype in leather case probably of Marian Sears (later Lovering) (b. 1852), daughter of Frederick Richard Sears. The photograph was taken by the daguerreotypist Jeremiah Gurney of New York, N.Y. ca. 1855, Enclosed is a note in an unknown hand that identifies the photograph.
