Wilkin Papers.

The Wilkin Papers consist of 653 unsorted items, chiefly 1810-1850, in six folders. Chiefly receipts, they also include inventories, indentures, and a few letters mostly about family matters of the Wilkin family of Shenandoah Co., Va. Prominent in the collection are papers of John and Godfrey Wilkin of Woodstock, Shenandoah Co., Va. Others from Shenandoah County include Jacob Gochenauer, Philip Wilkin and Jacob Wilkin. One letter is from Rachel Wilkin in New Market, Highland Co., Ohio. There are a few letters relating to the German Reformed congregation in Shenandoah Co., one a petition expressing dissatisfaction with a minister by 39 members of the German Reformed Church of Woodstock and another petition to hire a minister who could preach in German for the Evangelic Reformed congregations in Shenandoah Co. (both in folder 5). Genealogical material in the collection consists of two lists of Christian Funkhauser's children (1841) (in folder 5).
