Russell Lindberg papers 1907-1974 (1930-1932).

The papers include scrapbooks, newspaper clippings, photographs, school records and athletic awards collected by Russell Lindberg and his wife Anna Mae (Gorman) Lindberg. Most of the materials document their exploits as competitive swimmers in the Amateur Athletic Union, Intercollegiate sports and the Olympics.

Russell Lindberg was born in Munhall, Pa. in 1913. He attended Munhall Public School and graduated in 1930. He swam for the Homestead Library Swim Team. He attended the University of Pittsburgh on a swimming scholarship from 1930 to 1933. He was swim chairman of the Allegheny Mountain Association from 1938 to 1962. He stopped competing in 1945.
