Lamb discusses his youth, his early fascination with flying, and his experiences as a flight instructor during World War II at Plainview and later Sweetwater, Texas where he trained Women Airforce Service Pilots.

Native of Howe, Texas; began flying in 1936. Entered the war effort in 1942 instructing glider pilots in Plainview, Texas. Later he transferred to Avenger Field at Sweetwater, Texas where he served as flight instructor for the WASP until December, 1944 when he began work with Trans World Airlines (TWA).
