Negative taken for August 30, 1964, Arkansas Gazette article "Archeologists 'Dig' Up Some History," E5:2. The Arkansas Archeological Society sponsored a nine day program to teach professionals and amateurs to work at an excavation project. Field work included a dig in Shipp, Baxter County, Arkansas, under the supervision of Dr. Charles R. (Bob) McGimsey and Hester Davis. This spot was selected because of its reputation as a source of arrow points and other stone artifacts. Louise Shoemaker of Baxter County participates in the excavation.
