Three envelopes from April, 1935 feature the seal of the Young America Club on the front left side, in purple, goldenrod and red. The seal features a robed woman carrying a flag saying "progress" with a steamboat on one side and a railroad on the other. The text around the picture reads: "Young America Club - Louisville Kentucky - April 22 to 30 - 1935. Louisville Exposition - Junior Board of Trade." Two other Young America Club covers feature prominent Kentuckians: Zachary Taylor "Young America Club Cachet Sesqui Centennial Anniversary" and Daniel Boone "200th Anniversary Birth of Daniel Boone Cachet by Young America Club."

Zachary Taylor (1784-1850), the twelfth president of the United States. In 1841, he was appointed to the command of the Sourthern Division of the United States. In the spring of 1845, Taylor appointed to command the Army of Occupation stationed in Corpus Christi. In May 1846, Taylor led his army into north Mexico. Following the battle of Monterey, Taylor was ordered to join General Winfield Scott at the siege of Veracruz. Taylor's victory at at the Battle of Buena Vista made him a national hero....

Boone, Daniel, 1734-1820

Daniel Boone (1734-1820) was a pioneer land settler, Indian fighter and he served in military and political positions in Kentucky. At the time this letter was written, he was on the verge of losing his many tracts of land because the titles were improperly entered.
