Twenty-four photographs of canning activities and canning clubs in Massachusetts and Rhode Island from 1915-1918. Most of the photos depict women engaged in canning and preserving fruits and vegetables in community canning kitchens in Amherst, Harvard, Haverhill, Lynn, and Springfield, Mass., as well as Kingston, Rhode Island. There are also a number of images of women's canning classes at Framingham State Normal School in Framingam, Mass. All of the photographs are mounted on paper and identified with a typewritten label; the pages appear to have been removed from an album. None of the photographers are identified.
