La Colorada Mine photographs, ca. 1915-1945.

Summary: One photograph album with photographs of the La Colorada Mine near Torres, Sonora, Mexico including the Grand Central Mill, exteriors of mine buildings, and miners at work with their equipment as well as social groups including tennis players and a costume party. There are views of Torres, Mexico and a W.H. Horne photograph of dead rebels dated 1915. There is also a photograph of buildings at Duquesne, Arizona. Other images, in the 1930s and 1940s, shows fishing at Guaymas, Sonora and hunting of big horn sheep and deer.

Biographical note: Mining engineer in Mexico and South America; William and Catherine Taylor acquired and lived at the La Colorado Mine near Torres, Sonora, Mexico in the 1920s. Taylor first came to Arizona to work at Duquesne near Washington Camp in 1916, worked in South America from 1917 to 1921, then returned to Arizona and Sonora.
