This collection is primarily of a political nature; much of it relates to Alfred M. Landon's 1936 presidential campaign. It covers politics in Kansas from 1930 to 1932. The presidential campaign materials include political, convention, and campaign matters from 1935 and 1936. In addition there are several Record books from 1935 and 1936 and an historical and personal file from 1917 through 1931. There are also personal and business files dating from 1916 to 1950.

Alfred "Alf" Mossman Landon (September 9, 1887 – October 12, 1987) was an American politician from the Republican Party. He served as the twenty-sixth Governor of Kansas from 1933 to 1937. He was the Republican Party's nominee in the 1936 presidential election, but was defeated in a landslide by incumbent President Franklin D. Roosevelt who won the electoral college vote 523 to 8.
