This is a series of four autograph letters, signed, written to different correspondents at the same time, dated July 2, 1828, from London. The first letter sends condolences to the widow of Dugald Stewart. The second letter is written to Mrs. Stewart's brother, Lord Corehouse, friend of Sir Walter Scott, enclosing the above, and introducing the bearer, Dacres Adams, travelling with a friend from Scotland. The third letter is for Henry Lord Cockburn, introducing Adams. The fourth letter is sent to Archibald Alison, again introducing Dacres Adams.
