Jack E. Thomas was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on November 30, 1910. His career in military intelligence spanned more than 60 years. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1969 at the rank of Major General. Following his retirement he served for nine years on the staff of the Director of Central Intelligence and then served as a full-time consultant in the Office of the Secretary of Defense between 1978 and 2004.
