Paul H. Williams papers, 1943-1945 [manuscript].

Collection contains 25 images depicting Williams wartime experiences as a member of the 10th Mountain Division (1943-1945). These include 13 pen-and-ink drawings and two water colors. Subjects: "F" company's victory party near Tricesimo, North Italy (June/July 1945); Maneuvers-Yoder Gulch (n.d.); Crossing Po River and Always digging in (Spring 1944); S-2 in action, intelligence section, the training of a spy (n.d.); Sgt. Paul H. Williams Jr. was born on July 7, 1923 in La Grange, Ga., the son of Paul H. and Loretta M Williams. In elementary school he won several art scholarships and eventually attended the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts. An avid skier, Williams volunteered for the 10th Mountain Division in late 1942 at Camp Hale, Colo.
