Patrick White letter and papers, 1930-1971.

The collection consists of three items: letter to Harry Feldman; typed transcript of White's rare first book of 13 poems; photocopied article from Australian literary studies titled, Patrick White's first book. The letter to Harry Feldman, 24 Jan. 1971, is in response to a request for an autograph, revealing that White expected to be in New York in April 1971. The transcript of 13 poems is 21 leaves, with provenance of original on first leaf. The article, Patrick White's first book, was written by Leon Cantrell, and briefly assesses the poems in light of White's later work.
