The bulk of the material is from the Civil War and includes many letters from soldiers or their families requesting information or assistance. Letters regarding the troops from officers. Requisitions, vouchers, accounting lists. Assessments for claims by civilians for property or damages incurred by troops. Bond certificates. There are many letters from veterans or their family requesting copies of discharges, information about their troop or other soldiers, or assistance with some claim. War claims letters. Militia reports.
