Papers, 1940-1945.

Papers comprised chiefly of letters Herbert Vincinus sent to his family in regards to his experiences of military life. The letters indicate he was stationed at various domestic military bases until September 1943, when he was transferred to England and subsequently to France in July 1944. His letter August 11 discusses how he was wounded in action by a piece of shrapnel. Thereafter, the letters indicate he was convalescing in a military hospital until mid-December 1944 and then returning to active duty for the duration of his time in the service. These papers also include copies of his military service records.
