Abstracts of title in San Francisco, 1851-1876.

Abstract of title (ca. 288 p.) for lots primarily within the 50 Vara and 100 Vara districts, as well as water lots, in San Francisco, 1847-1859. This summarizes the transfer of deeds, as well as mortgages and legal actions, and includes sketch maps. Also includes an abstract of transactions for a portion of land located in Oakland, many of which involve various members of the Peralta family, original owners of the land. A second volume (ca. 164 p., some blank) with cover title, "Outside Property 1861-2," contains block maps of sections of San Francisco, along with property information. This information consists of the owner or business for lots within each section, as well as the boundaries of each lot. A third volume (170 p.) concerns a portion of lot no. 4 within block no. 276 in the Western Addition of San Francisco. This summarizes transfers of deeds, mortgages, sheriff's certificates, and various legal actions, 1851-1876. The block is bounded by Post and Geary Streets to the north and south, and by Webster and Buchanan Streets to the west and east. The transactions involve such individuals as F.B. Austin and H.L. Dodge.
