Photocopied typescript monograph consisting of excerpted letters, 1898-1945, between bookbinder Katharine Adams and Charles Harry St. John Hornby, founder of the Ashendene Press, with description and analysis by Corley. The correspondence concerns Adams as a collector and binder of Ashendene Press books, and binder of other books for Hornby. Also included are lists of Ashendene Press books collected by Adams (with notes on each book), accounts between her and the Press, 1903-1905, and bindings by her commissioned by Hornby.

Katharine Adams Webb (1862-1952) was an English bookbinder. Largely self-trained, Adams enjoyed the patronage of several private presses, including the Doves Press, the Ashendene Press, and the Kelmscott Press. Her most significant works date from the first quarter of the 20th century, although she continued to bind books until her death.
