Sam Lamar collection, 1938-2005 (inclusive).

The Sam Lamar Collection consists mainly of correspondence, photographs, and other documents from 1946-1951 related to his time as a student at the Tallahassee Branch of the University of Florida (TBUF) and later Florida State University. Folder 15 contains 166 photographs of Florida State College for Women (FSCW) and Tallahassee Branch of the University of Florida (TBUF) students and locales. Photos of people include Johnny Gilmore, John Garcia, Ed Bowman, Bill Lane, Howard Falcon, Byron M. Calmon, Jack Keaton, Barbara Beckman, Donna Farmer, Betty Timmons, Delores Scarboro, Barbara Breen, Laura Simpson, Gussie Skinner, Peggy May, Margaret Braun, Betsy Abbot, Bobbie Vaughn, Betty Pearce, Elsia Garcia, Ray Culbreth, Joe Almyda and Wayne Betts. Photos of FSCW/TBUF/FSU sites include the Dale Mabry Barracks, the Longmire Building, Landis Green, Centennial Field, Murphree Hall, the Johnston Building and Westcott. Photos also depict the historic Asolo Theatre and Ca d'Zan in Sarasota, and locations in Gainesville. Folders 1-26 (excluding 15) contain ticket stubs to FSU football games, biographical information including an article titled "My memories of the 1941 Carolina Maneuvers" (2/20/1980), correspondence from the Navy and Veterans Administration to Sam Lamar, postcards, programs for plays and Governor Fuller Warren's inaguration, receipts for FSCW tuition, and various TBUF materials including a list of TBUF alumni and the proposed constitution for TBUF students.
