Roll and muster of the light infantry company, 8th Massachusetts Regiment, commanded by Colonel Michael Jackson, 1783 April.

Partially printed form completed by hand. Has columns for ranks, names, term of enlishtment, casualties, mustered, time since last muster or enlistment, and altercations since last muster. Certified by Capt. John Burnam (April 1783) and Major W Barber (March 1783) that the above roll is the true state of the company. Note on back of document by donor: "This document was found among the papers of the late Major Samuel Armstrong of Boston Mass who was an officer in the within mentioned Eighth Regt Infty of the Continental Army. He was a member of the Society of Cincinnati. He was born August 10th 1754 Boston He died 10th Decr 1810 aged 56yrs 4 mos. His remains were entombed in the family vault in the Granary cemetery, Boston. He died suddenly on the morning of 10th Decr 1810 of apoplexy of his brain. He was a staff officer and had been an Aide-de-Camp to General Jackson."
