Manuscript commonplace book of Benjamin Smedley, compiled around 1735. The volume contains John Dryden's "The State of Innocence," "An Account of the New Tragedy called the Gamester written by Mr. Moore," some notes on music and several pieces of choral music, and scene one of "The Relapse, or, Virtue in Danger," by John Vanbrugh.
