Matthew Arnold letters, 1875-1886.

The collection consists of six letters: to Prof. Buchheim, 17 Jan. 1883, praising his Deutsche Lyrik; to Lord Granville, 5 Nov. 1885, asking for a letter of introduction for a trip he was taking to Berlin to get information about schools and free schooling; to James Rennell Rodd, 14 Jan. 1886, announcing his return to Berlin and reminiscing about their previous experiences there; to My dear Spottiswode, undated, declining an invitation; to Lady Lyndhurst, undated, arranging to meet for lunch; to M.D. Conway, 4 Feb. 1875, inviting him to call.
