A collection of more than 3,000 academic writings containing theological dissertations submitted for degrees in German universities from ca. 1580 to ca. 1830. The majority of the dissertations are from ten universities: Tübingen, Rostock, Jena, Wittenberg, Leipzig, Halle, Altdorf, Strasbourg, Helmstedt, and Göttingen. In addition to dissertations and disputations, miscellaneous writings include orations, inaugural addresses, homilies, church year programs, and treatises from related areas of philology, philosophy, and history.
