Fox Theater report, 1941-1975.

Summary: Twelve-page, typescript report entitled "The Fox Tucson Theatre, 1974," prepared by Edith Auslander for a University of Arizona course on historic preservation. The report relates the history of the Fox Theater and possible future uses. It includes black-and-white photographs, taken by Jack Schaeffer, of 1940s to 1950s interior and exterior views of the theater. Exterior images show movie marquees and lines at the ticket window. Interior images include the refreshment counter, movie posters, Gregory Peck, Mickey Mouse Club kids in the theater seats, a war bond sales booth and a Red Cross recruitment booth.

Biographical note: Reporter and editor of the "Arizona Daily Star" from 1973 to 1981. Jack Sheaffer was a photographer at the Star. The Fox Theater opened in 1930 and was closed in 1974.
