August W. Edwins Papers 1909-1940; 1909-1919.

Items contained in this series include a letterpress book with correspondence of August W. Edwins from 1909-1913, and 1918. Typewritten minutes from extra meetings of the Augustana Synod China Mission are included, as well as minutes for specific Augustana Synod China mission annual conference meetings held in 1916 and 1918, and minutes from summer conference meetings held in 1916-1917. There are items pertaining to the Lutheran Board of Publication, a cooperative agency of Lutheran missions in China, that include an agenda for an October 1940 meeting of the editorial committee, a financial report for LBP sales, and a circulation report. An undated proposed constitution for congregations belonging to the Lutheran Church in China is also included. There is a 1919 listing of books lent to specific missionaries and books available in the library, second-hand books, and histories. A handwritten list from 1914 that appears to pertain to something financial regarding the Chiang Koh property is included, but the notations on the single piece of paper are mostly illegible. There is an undated, revised constitution for the National Christian Council of China. This cooperative organization of Protestant church bodies and other Christian organizations in China focused on mission issues. In regards to the minutes from annual and summer conference meetings, there are no minutes for 1914 in this particular collection. Additional copies of minutes from Augustana China mission meetings are found in AUG 24/4/1, AUG 24/5/1, and AUG 24/6/2.
