Vance, air attacheĢ of the American embassy in London, commander of the 27th Bombardment Group, the 22nd Bomber Wing, the 344th Bombardment Group; Ninth (9th) Air Force; FIELD ORDER #1090, probably a fictional account of an airplane crash in Germany during the war; WINGS FOR MIM, a tale of life and love in the post-war occupation Air Force; and MEDICAL MILESTONES, a summary of important or unusual medical developments published under the auspices of Medical Mutual of Cleveland. Henry Jaroslav John was born in 1885 in Olomouc in the province of Moravia (Czech Republic) and joined his parents in the U.S. at age 14. He worked in Oklahoma and in Kansas, where he went to school at the University of Kansas. In 1912, he recieved his Masters at the University of Minnesota.
