The collection consists of a bound copy of Alfred Tennyson's poem, "Break; break; break." There is a title page with a small vignette of a coastal scene, a four page hand-illuminated and engrossed transcript of the poem, a fair copy of the manuscript in Tennyson's hand, a loose carte-de-viste of Tennyson, and a laid-in signed cabinet photograph of Tennyson, both by Elliott & Fry.
