Dr. Melvin Kranzberg (1917-1995) was one of the founders of the Society of History of Technology (SHOT) and headed up the first graduate program in the History of Technology at Case Western Reserve University. He joined Georgia Tech's Social Sciences Department in 1972, and remained there until his retirement in 1988. He was instrumental in establishing Tech's School of History, Technology, and Society.
