Negative taken for December 21, 1961, Arkansas Gazette article "Rover Visits a Chain Factory in Forrest City," B1:3. The Yale & Towne Manufacturing Company was founded by Linus Yale, Jr. and Henry R. Towne in Connecticut in 1868. This plant, located in Forrest City, Saint Francis County, Arkansas, boasts of being the largest hoist-making factory in the world. In addition to making steel chains, Yale & Towne also makes lift trucks that have a capacity of six tons. Edward A. Toomey is the general manager of the plant, which employs 450 workers from the eastern Arkansas area.
