Confederate prison muster roll, 1864 April 27.

Confederate prison muster roll, Castle Thunder, Richmond, is signed by Officer of the Guard and Camp Commander L.W. Richardson and counter-signed by Lt. William B.G. Andrews. The roll lists 58 prisoners, both Union and Confederate soldiers and 5 civilians and records date of incarceration; regiment and state; cause, date and place of arrest; hospital commitments; and discharges. Of interest are notes on the civilians including a Dr. Macon, committed as a spy; J. Garletts, arrested for piloting deserters to Union lines; Mrs. S.E. Garletts; and Frances Fitzhugh, a free woman, cause unknown.
