Papers of the Harkaway Estate, Albemarle Co., Va., 1900-1950.

Papers of "Harkaway" consists of photographs of sporting events including cockfighting, horse racing, horse jumping, and dogs; photographs of people in the John Stewart and related families; and World War II scenes, correspondence and some miscellaneous items. World War II scenes were taken by NBC during a tour of bombed London, particularly the area around St. Paul's and a "Radio Heads" Tour of the Italian Front conducted by Genl. Mark Clark. Other people depicted in the photographs include Vice Marshall MacNeece Foster, and NBC executives Niles Trammell and John Royal. Correspondence of John and Eleanor H. Stewart discusses the Keswick Hunt Club, affairs of the Masters of the Foxhounds Association of America, and a dog pedigree. Correspondents include Edward H. Carle, William duPont, Jr., J.C. Murtagh, Henry G. Vaughan, and George H. Whitten. Miscellaneous items include a 1930 Christmas card depicting the "Keswick Hounds Thanksgiving 1930."
